The fourth piece in a series of light studies.
Neon Artifact is a personal series of digital artworks made from photographed light tubes, scanned paper and generated gradients. Number 04 became a limited print and a set of animated posters.
Challenge
Fluorescent colours look flat in print. The goal was to keep the glow of the screen version on paper.
Approach
I printed with fluorescent spot inks on a risograph and layered them over a dark base, testing more than twenty combinations.
Result
An edition of fifty prints sold through the studio, and the animation was shown at a group exhibition in Berlin.
